Wednesday evening find.

Hi Bob
Here's a few for you. They dont all come out of the ground in good shape. Got these today from the lake area we went to, out in the field. The seated quarter was the deepest at close to 10 inches, the merc + indian head were around 7-8 inches. To bad there all roached.

Except for that Indian Head. Still cool you found it. I thought that field might have something. Just not enough time to do all your spots in a day and a half. So 10 inches - did it sound iffy? I got a merc today that showed about 10 inches down on the depth indicator and the signal was not real good. Dug down and the coin was about 6-7 inches deep. I was running sensitivity up at 20!

It was an iffy signal but it was definitely a signal worth digging. The number was a little jumpy but it did hit a #38 from a couple different directions. There were some rusty spots in the ground around the coin, didn't find any iron but my guess the rusty spots were probably small nails at one time and just rusted away giving me that mixed signal. I know there are deeper targets in this field, it has been plowed several times over the years. The problem is getting to them I think my next coil will be the 15" WOT ,perfect spot to test it the targets are deep and there's not to much junk.

First I wanted to say hi. I am new to the Quattro forum but will have one in my hands soon and I can't wait! I am currently swinging a Sovereign Elite and thought I would post the Barber I found not to long ago with it. If you ask me, I will still take a worn piece of silver over a wheatie anyday!

Thats in beautiful shape. I love when they come out of the ground looking like that. I don't know much about the Sov Elite. A buddy of mine uses a Sov GT and loves it. But I do know the Quattro is one awesome machine you should be very pleased with it. Good luck

Hey Butch,

yeah I was very pleased when it came out of the ground like that especially being that it was my 1st barber so that makes it extra special for me. I found it at a demo site where an old 1800-1900 era hotel stood.

As for the Quattro I have been in the market sometime for a new detector. I contemplated going back to a DFX which is a great machine, my only disappointment with it is the depth which I need at many of the old parks etc that I like to hunt.

So I came to the Quattro. I never realised what a great coinhunter it is. When they first came out people were speaking of it as a great beach machine (which it is) but it's an even better coinshooter it seems. A great all around machine with the depth of the EXII minus the bells an whistles which I really don't need personally. I can't wait to get out there and make some finds! Nice to meet you.
