Wednesday and Friday hunts = no silver, but lots of pennies!

Hey all, sorry I haven't been around to post in awhile. My grandmother had passed away this Tuesday I haven't been able to find the time until tonight to get all the pictures off my digital camera, cropped down and edited.

Wednesday I found myself back at the park in the town I grew up in. Last decent coin I pulled on a previous hunt was a war nickel, so I braved the heat and gave the ATP a workout for a few hours. I concentrated on the trashiest part of the park in hopes to squeeze out a few more keepers. I have been digging a lot of pulltabs and aluminum soda caps and steel bottle caps hoping to unmask a few deeper coins. Most older coins in this park have been between 2 - 6" deep. The total take for the day was 6 wheaties, an 1890 Indian head penny, 1927 Buffalo nickel and a 1911 V-nickel. I was so happy to get that wide variety of keepers and I dug more keeper coins than I did clad coins!

Today after my grandmothers funeral and dinner afterwards, I went out again to the park in hopes to clear my mind and maybe just get a silver today. Well I struck out again on the silver, but did manage another 6 wheaties, an 1882 Indian, 1863 fatty indian, and a toasted indian. I didn't bother taking pictures of all the wheaties, the 82 indian or the toasted indian, they are in pretty bad condition. Glad to see everyone is getting out and making some killer finds. HH

Great hunt & nice variety of oldies!! I can't wait to find an Indian Head and V-Nickel. Sorry to hear about your grandmother, best to you and yours.
