Today was a good day, located a lost Wedding Ring for a friend of mine, but gave my Garret CXlll a test,Temp was 3 degrees with a -25 windchill,I have never had it out when it was that cold but it stood the test for an hour before I found the ring.

That's a great find. I found one at the beach for a guy. The story I wrote about it made the Fall 2006 Garrett Searcher newsletter.

Great! It's always nice when you can find a lost item and return it to its owner. Makes a feller feel good.

Uncle Willy,
You are correct, my very first find was a diamond ring for a young lady who was with two friends at a local lake. I had just purchased my GTP 1350 and had just started searching when three young ladies approached me and ask if I had found anything. I spent about 10 minutes trying to explain how a metal detector worked and then went about my search. About and hour later one came up to me in a panic and told me she had lost her ring and ask if my detector could find a gold ring. Since I was brand new at MDing I wasn't even sure I could find it. After searching for about 15 minutes I was able to return her ring.
I have found many coins and relics since that day, however nothing has given me the satisfaction of returning that young ladies ring and seeing the joy it brought her.
I will more than likely not be on line until after Christmas; So MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL MY FRIENDS @ GARRETT FORUM!!
And remember "Christmas is a BIRTHDAY!"
Your Friend,
