Wedding ring set from the beach sand:clapping:...found the band first, but

.....the weight, appearance and VID numbers on the Xterra didn't add up, it's junk:rage:....Finding the band first and knowing that it was most likely part of a set I kept working the area till the engagement ring was found.
This is something to remember when detecting.....Do not to walk away from the area till you're sure you've recovered all that might be found there. This goes for water hunting too, you could be leaving the best of it for someone else to find. GL ALL

When I saw your post, I went to my finds drawer and pulled out a junk ring set that I had detected several months ago that is very similar to yours. Like yourself, I found the one ring in the set and then the other wasn't too far away. Same with pendants, when I detect a lone pendant, I check for scratchy and iffy signals just in case the chain is still somewhere close by!

Been there done that several times........ hate china. Boy..... talking about that i did just that i believe last month. Found a nice 14k with stones engagement ring...... then after my hunt got looking at it. Dang it was obviously made as part of a set and i just walked away like a dummy on down the beach.

If you're saying it's junk, it sure is pretty junk. Ah, the possibilities. That's what make us do what we do. I've found my share of knock offs and I remember them all. I coulda been a champ! Keep at it, you know the deal. It'll happen when you least expect it. Bill.

I know the feeling. I have found 3 sets like that, they look great but all 3 were stainless, yeah, it sucks....HH

I believe max would call that a 6 pill nitro... it does look real nice till you do close up... better luck next time bob...

Congratulations! Nice finds.

Still a nice catch, I find those I know there are reals near by because everyone is trying to out impress the other...

I nailed a nice 2 carat Plat set (3) last year by doing the full circle.. came in at 23 to 27g's appraised just the main ring. To this day every chance I get I hunt the same area, this year I got a nice 18k band which turned out to be 22k once I acid tested it from the same area... if I look inland from the beach there are some Million Dollar Condos inline with the area....
