Weave Pattern Gold Ring

Treasure Mike

New member
Went to a park after dinner tonight and searched around a pit where they play horse shoes. The ground slopes down about 10 feet on one side so I thought I would search the hillside to see if anything fell down there. About half way down the little hill I get a solid loud 22 hit on my MXT with the Bigfoot coil. I am running the MXT at 2+ gain and I could tell that this was a shallow coin sized target. I had been digging a lot of pull tabs in the 24-26 range so I thought this was a nickel at the 22 reading. I dug a shallow plug and out comes this deep orangish yellow ring. It has a weave type pattern and weighs 3.1 grams and is a size 3 1/2. It is not marked but my Mizar electronic gold tester lite right up to 18K-that's as high as it goes. It might be 22K because of the deep color. It makes my 14K wedding band look pale in comparison. Thanks for looking! Mike

Great find Mike, your like a gold magnet keep up the good work. I've started using relic mode went to a school that I had work a lot, used my 6x10 DD found 2 quarters 6 pennies 1 dime and a silver ring. Do you have the VDI numbers memorized I have a problem deciding whether or not to dig. Chuck-AZ

I use the relic mode also. It doesn't take long to know the VDI's for coins. Also you can look at the C/J chart below the probablity bars. If you are looking for gold it doesn't matter since gold can read from foil to pennies. Rob

Very beautiful basket weave ring. Sure is a sweeeeet one at 18+ K. No wonder it weighs so much! NICE!!!!!!!

Great hit!! Do you normally get an 18 on nickels? Was the 22 solid and not bouncing any?....( haven't got past the PT to a golden goody yet... got a great collection on tabs though..
