Wow, lucky you! That's a nice machine and you should have fun with it. Good luck with it...

Ron, think you're right. The forums always get slow at certain times of year and then pick up at others. Right now with the weather getting cooler and more wet, I bet many are busy out finally getting some land hunting in now. I've only in the last few hunts really switched to land now. The water is just getting too cold for me to muck around in. I think guys are busy getting a belly full of land hunting in now and then they'll start having some stuff to post about it. See it happen every year. Usually in the hot summer the forums die as people refuse to hunt in the hot/dry conditions. Only thing that really seems to take off is the water hunting forums then. And then around Dec or so you'll also see the woods hunting threads start taking off, once the weeds have been pushed down by a good snow storm or two. I know I've got several spots in mind to hunt in the woods already lined up. We hit them in the early summer and found some old coins but the weeds/poisen ivy was too bad to cover the areas well. In the winter more often than not we are in the woods hunting, and split evenly with that and hunting old public parks or such.

Just noticed a spot near me where they mowed down some tall grass/brush that hadn't been touched in probably 20 years. It's an old area so I plan to either hunt it today or tomorrow. My feet were wet from my earlier short hunt today so I'm not sure if I'll go back out. Filling a bit under the weather.

Gentlemen, got stranded putting siding on my house, one of my hunting buddies called got to call him back.Bad week one of my boarders wants her 30yr old horse put down this week the 27th.I have to arrange my neighbor with his back hoe to dig the hole on the 26th.I've been around this horse for twelve years, not looking forward to his last walk to meet the Vet on the 27th. Happy Hunting Ron

Ron, don't know how you can do that. I ain't strong enough. If I had to put my Husky down it would have killed me. Sure, I'm a deer hunter and harvested a lot of game over the years, but something about a pet that just won't let me do it. Not even sure if I can hunt again after my dog died. Sure, nothing wrong with it and there is a need so long as it's used for food, but me personaly? Don't know if I can anymore...

Stiff couple of drinks and a little prayer might help get the job done. Don't envy you at all...

Ron, I know how you feel. That's a hard and sad thing to have to do. All of my dogs in the past were family. Mark
