This time last year 2011/12................ 51% of United States had snow on the ground
The Temp was a lot higher too.

This time 2012/13.......... 61% has snow on the ground !!

Just think last year about 50% of us were still detecting !!

I know I was, but right now rain is killing me!

I live in CT and 1 year ago today (temperature was around 50 degrees) I was hunting a little fresh water beach. There will be no such luck this year :(

I guess it depends on where you are. Here in Massachusetts, it is warmer this year. Temps in the 40's and 50's, almost 60 later this week. Global warming. Another 10 or 15 years, it will probably get in the 60's in Jan and Feb. Kid you not. I just got back from a beach hunt today. Nice and warm and sunny today. Had to remove hood and gloves in afternoon. Kev

Where I am, we are experiencing temps. between 100 to 104 deg. F....and waiting to be consumed by bushfires which are gradually spreading across the State (NSW Aust). I cant wait for rain & some cooler weather. :)

I saw the fires raging in Australia on the tv and pray you folks get some much needed rain. It's hot in my state for January.

Thanks guys. No fires in our immediate vicinity (yet), but parts of NSW, Victoria and Tasmania have been gutted (and it's still going). Hot weather is predicted to continue for some time yet, so I guess we do what we can to stay ok. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. Too busy to do detecting at the moment, but looking forward to getting out again soon. HH
