.... I'll be posting a few more over the next week or so.
[attachment 208762 sealfulllength.jpg] This item is a pedestal seal. It was worn suspended from a chain or ribbon around the neck or from a pocket. The seal was used to press into wax the owners official seal. This photo was taken out in the field before it was cleaned from laying in the dirt since the early to mid 1700's. The seal is about 1" tall from top to bottom made of bronze.
[attachment 208763 sealcloseupedit.jpg] This photo shows the seal itself as it would appear when looked at. There is some text over a plow.
[attachment 208764 sealcloseupreversededit.jpg] This is a mirror image of the seal to see how it might look in it's wax impression. I need to do more cleaning on it to be able to read the text. Based on the text style, I'm assuming the seal dates to the 1700's.
I'll post another reversed photo of the seal if I can get it clean enough to read it.
Here is the best of the two hammered silver coins I recovered. It is an Elizabeth I, dated somewhere 1559 to 1601. Not enough detail to get a better date with my limited knowledge.

[attachment 208772 mayorstableandbike.jpg]We were invited to evening garden cocktails and inside sitdown steak dinner at the Mayor's house in the un-named town. Here is our group having dinner. L to R: Kate: the Mayor's girl, The Mayor, Derick: the English Bobbie, Bubba, and Keith. To the right is the Mayor's famous bike.
These folks were a lot of fun and they had a ball trying to talk with Bubba.
