We made it back from our airborne plumbing mission. It was a nice day for flying the back country of Idaho!

We started our day at the local airport. Our friend Don arrived right on time in his waaay cool (Horkin, zesty, joosta) high performance airplane.

We loaded up our tools and materials in the plumbing and rocketed down the runway for our destination in the central Idaho mountains. I was sitting in the co-pilot seat and after we got in the air, Don told me to take over the controls. Don't panic folks, I have flown lots of times. Don gave me a heading and rate of climb to reach our altitude we needed to clear the 8000 foot mountain range we had to fly over. The air was smooth and the view was great! Nancy callled me later in the day to see if it was us who "Buzzed" our house. Yep, That was me! After a 30 minute flight at 145 knots we reached the Valley where the plumbing problem awaited us. Our destination was located on the shores of this lake.

I turned the controls over to Don so we could land and not end up like this plane.

I think they said that some Cajun had heard there was a slot maching in the bar by the airport and wanted to get at it quick! A perfect landing to pull the lever on the slots without leaving the cockpit! (Sorry Elson)
Don has a car parked at the airstrip that he keeps up there for when he flys in to spend time at his cabin, so we loaded our stuff into his rig and off we went.
The house we were working on had a fairly good location and quite a view as well. I took this picture out of their back patio.

I don't want to waste space on the this post with boring plumbing pictures so let me just say that we were able to fix the problem of the hot toilet with a minimum of sheetrock damage. I think Ray could fix the whole mess in less time than it takes him to eat a salad.
Don treated us to lunch before we got back in his plane for the ride home. We were taking off from an airstrip that is at 6000 feet, and by now it was 87 degrees and the wind was blowing at about 15 knots. We had a wild and bumpy ride over the mountains. I took this photo as we went over the highest range that was in our way. Still some snow down there. I have shot a lot of elk on that ridge.

A last we landed and unloaded our stuff. I noticed the numbers on our plane. No I did not photo shop this, I lack the skill.

Yes indeed, I can't pick the combination to Vernons lock. but I can ride in a plane with my initials!
It was a nice day and a break from the everyday grind. Thanks for going with me. DC

Is That Picture Of The Plane Into The Building Real Or Was It Built Into The Roof On Purpose--It Looks That Way To Me---I Am Headed To Baker City On Labor Day To See IF I Can Find My First Nugget With The TDI Then A Few Days Later I Am Doing The Same By Going To Calif. Mother Lode Country Out Side Of Yosemite Near A Town Called Groveland I Was Invited Down There By Two Separate People Who Live There !---Good To See I Did Not Read About Any Search And Rescue Out Look For A Lost Flying Plumber---Come To Think Of It You Should Add That To Your Web Site You would Be The First In Your Area To Advertise That Your Are A Sky Plummer---Hire Elson As Your Pilot So He Can Point Out (Bi Yous To Every One) Guess Who I Learned To Spell From---It Was A Wild Eyed Cajon

Thanks for the interesting story and beautiful photos, DC

If you have a few seconds, could you please tell me what the problem was with the "hot water "toilet"?

What did you have to fix? Was it not supposed to have hot water in it? Once you got inside the wall.. was it that you had to turn off..or change the source of the water?

p.s. my husband is a plumber /pipe fitter by trade and I was trying to explain to him what the problem was.....but I didn't get very far.

Thank you......Lorraine
