We KILLED 2 D70's yesterday

RM

These cameras are only a year old but have had alot use.
Both failed at yesterday's wedding.

The first one the mirror is locked half way up.

The second one about every 3rd or 4th frame we get the ERR msg and it appears to skip exposure. We were still getting images from that one but missed alot of shots because of this ERR msg.

I had my doubts about the durability of these cameras for the power user.

Gotta buy 2 - D70s tomorrow as our wedding wedding schedule is quite demanding for the next few months.

Anybody heard any more about a better mid-range Nikon coming out?

Sorry that I can't help with the future Nikon offerings.

Not often do two camaeras go at once. Hope the new ones last longer.

Good luck.

I hear it's quite a workhorse.....

John,

We had a D100 and used it quite extensively.
The images from the D70 appear to be better.

I gave the D100 away a few months ago to an aspiring young photographer.

Well, anytime you have stuff to give away...I'm an aspiring old photographer.

It seems that these days photographers need to have 2 backups for each piece of equipment...

We had 4 cameras with us on Saturday so we recevered well.....

I've actually fixed both problem D70's now.
D70's have 2 master resets that sometimes cure the problems.
Ours are working now BUTTTTTT I still bought a new D70s to be on the safe side.
Gonna use the problem D70's sparingly for a while.

The real Pro's have tons of backups for everything. Glad you fixed the D70's...
