hello all. we had a great day in the woods today! frank and i decided to revisit the area where we had found the rifle pits last weekend. i wasn't there a hot 15 minutes when i pulled this nice script " I " button from the base of a small tree. it has a good standup shank and the superior quality backmark! i also found a nice old brass shoe buckle, two dropped three ringers, a shot hi base sharps, an 1854 half dime in great shape, a half rotten plain shield yankee button, a button back found in the same hole, a nice intact musket tompion, and finally a small flatbutton.
man, was i surprised to pull the script " I " out of an area we had grown accustomed to pulling yankee relics out of. there's a small vertical crack to the right of the i, making a push. but hey, i'll take it! frank had a fairly good day too, but i'll have to leave it to him to post his stuff up. just goes to show, there's still good stuff to find out there... don't ever give up. thanks for reading, and hh!
