We had a gold and silver day

Nancy found a yard for us to hunt and it was a little shy on old coins but well worth the trip.

I got the gold and Nancy the silver, my find is a 1966 10K class ring from Normal and Nancy will post her finds. My oldie coin is a 1950 wheaty and the Dog tax and rabies tags are both 1960.

My highlight of the day was finding this sweet little button and the 1919 Merc Dime. I had a little starter kit so all the clad didn't come from the yard. I'm thinking maybe 5 Memorial cents were dug today. HH, Nancy

Very cool ring! Would like to hear the return story on that one if you try and succeed.

I really like the button also Nacy. Very cute, maybe a child's outfit. Congrats on the dime also. Not seeing very much silver coinage of late.

Nice work guys!

Finding the owner is a work in progress.

I can't find any info on the owner online, will have to check the library in Normal for 1966 yearbook(s). The owner would be 66 years old now and I also think he would have a story to tell. The ring has CS Normal on it and assuming it is Normal IL, there were two schools it might have come from, Normal Community and Normal Central Catholic. So far the owners initials don't match either school for that year.

Yeah, we've been on the computer often trying to find a school but I think our best bet is to go to the library over in Normal. Possibly someone working there would have information of schools during that period also. Sure hope we can find the owner to this beauty!

Beautiful ring Larry!! good luck on the hunt for the owner...nice button Nancy !!
