We finally made it home today.

Pam and I are back home safe and sound. Had a great time visiting forum friends. Detecting????? Not so much.

You would think that after two times in that danged dirt I'd have learned my lesson. I PRAY that after this third time I NEVER SEE THAT ORANGE CRAP AGAIN IN MY LIFETIME.

There's some real good relics hiding under it and the challenge of finding it under those circumstances make the finds that much better when you coax them out of their graves. I had fun hunting with y'all last weekend and hate that we didn't get to spend much time together but heck we were all trying to find as much as we could in the time that we had. That ground is rough though, I've got a new respect for the guys that hunt it every weekend, The ground here is pretty good and I appreciate it more after hunting that hot ground but I wouldn't trade the experiance for anything. It is humbling to try to understand what the machine is telling you when you are digging hot rocks and Iron. I left there knowing more about my machine and after opening up 2 huts a better understanding of how those men lived. I'll see you at a future hunt again sometime and maybe then we'll do a little better and we'll all get to spend some more of that time together. I don't know how our bunch did as a group but I do know that I had fun and got to see some old friends and finally see a new one. I got my "one bullet" so the hunt was sucessful for me, But for me it's just about getting out there. Man I had a good time.
