We All Look At Things Differently

A friend stopped by today to check out some of my recent finds and commented that I shouldn't clean my coins as it diminishes the value. Well he may be correct,BUT, I am not concerned about the value at all, as I am not going to get rich selling any coins.

However, what I do want is to enjoy the coins I have, and to do that I want to see them. I clean them by whatever means necessary to achieve the result I want. :yikes:

I know some of you are cringing at this point but what it boils down to is this, " we all look at thing differently ", and it's what makes you happy that really counts. JMHO

:beers:

Yea, so there.........:clapping:

They are yours to do with what you please, IMO.

I agee for the most part. If I dig a really old, rare coin I might handle that one differently.

Yeah, your opinion might change if you find a rare and expensive coin. But otherwise...just roll with it !

I know a fellow that has laminated all of his finds into the top of the oak bar in his basement. It is a 30-foot bar, with almost 7,000 coins, rings, earrings, keys, yadda-yadda-yadda. The real interesting thing is this: Point to any item, and he can tell you where he found it! - Terry

I agree with you fsa. I clean up my silver coins that aren't key dates, they dont have any real value other than a few dollars.

I clean mine as well. Regardless of what the collectors say there IS a market for these coins. Lets get real... these coins came out of the ground and rarely would a professional grader grade them. The investors have created a market to their liking its not like it used to be when i collected coins as a boy. Your finds ..... your treasure, do with them as you will.

Dave, To refer to me as a " jack-a$$, because I have a different opinion then you, is far from having "immense respect for everyone". This is a family site and your actions are against all the site rules. I have to question if different action would have been taken against you if that comment had been addressed to someone other than myself.

Bullies like yourself have been given a pass in all walks of life, and just because the Administrator may have decide to give you a pass on this issue, I Sir, will not.

I'm sorry that you don't accept my apology

Guys...you can remove me from this site.

Let it go Frank, Dave made a mistake in judgement and apologized........... it has happened to all of us at one time or the other. This thread is closed.
