Hi, hope everyone had a great summer, was really slow for me not much detecting, anyhow.. I don't know how to get rid of a "icon" in my task bar. It was from a download , but I uninstalled, mostly worked..but the icon is popping up on my task bar? could you let me know how to remove? thanks oj/bc

Here is one method...

To actually REMOVE them from the tray, you have to go to the Start Menu/Run... then type "msconfig" Then just uncheck the items you want to remove from the Taskbar. If you want to remove a single program from the taskbar you simply right click on the unwanted program and click on delete Note this will not remove the program from the computer just the taskbar shortcut

some programs require an uninstall tool from the company that owns the program. If you still have a problem try This free tool. Read up on it before you use any other functions as messing with the registry is NOT recommended unless you know your stuff. The uninstaller is excellent though.
If you by chance downloaded an anti virus (perhaps fake) then download, update, then run this program and keep it. I suggest buying the lifetime license for 25 bucks as it protects you in real time but you can start with the free version which has all functions but no real time protection. It is the absolute best anti malware program of all and works with your anti virus (it does not replace an anti virus) Malwarebytes
