WAY WOULD SOMEONE PAY BIG MONEY FOR A DETEACTOR AND NOT HAVE IT PAY FOR ITSELF!

Meaning what? That they just don't use it? My detectors lately haven't been earning their keep but it isn't for lack of trying, lol. --Jerry

as stated above a detector can't pay for itself if there are no pricey targets found-yrs ago when I got into detecting a decent piece of jewelry was a gimme at a beach outing now with more people hunting and the amt of people leaving their goodies at home gold is getting scarce these days.if ya live close to a tourist beach ya can still make decent finds as people like to show off and keeping up the Jones is something some people live for.its like fishing if a full boat was guaranteed every trip it would be called catching.each of use dream of hitting a mother lode but than reality sets in and we realize that some days clad is all there is to be had-so its not from lack of trying or the amt of time spent hunting its more that the good finds are getting farther and fewer in between.also dig everything so as not to miss a chance-if it beeps -find out what it is

It all depends on whats under your coil...

After a 3/4 mile beach walk.. to get to where I wanted to hunt.. I walked into the water, turned on my Excal, and within 8 swing I found this
and it paid for my machine a couple times over.. and that was in the first 3 minutes of entering the water.. Not to say how many other finds that paid for my machine too..
