Way way off topic....but one of those times in life when the light was perfect and Betty Jane looked young & beautiful again!

Couldn't go tectin' because I took Barnacle Jr. on a road trip. But I found a treasure when the light was perfect and I took a decent handhold with a point & shoot. Gave me the same kind of satisfaction as digging a nice keeper.:)

P-51. Man, I would love a ride in one of them.

Classic warbirds. What's not to love?

That's one beautiful bird Bill! You don't often see a mark B. Mark D's were common but not the beauty that you photoed.
As a side note, I went over to a neighbouring town Wednesday/Thursday to help a mate out to work on his plane (a Jabaru) We had to pull the undercarriage off amongst other things. We were going to go for a fly, but found that we needed more parts.
I got to swing the X-Terra 70 for a couple of hours and came up with just over $26.

Love the old stuff! Townsville is having a skyshow in two hours, it is going for seven hours in all. U.S Thunder birds with our Roulettes last display of F1-11 and Carabu ,plus hawks, hornets, C-117
P-51 neptune and heaps moore. 80,000 people on the strand to have a look. I think a walk along the beach in the morning my just be a good idea!

Wish I was there.
I thought that the F111's were going for another couple of years. The Carabu's are finally being retired at Christmas. Both classic planes. The C117 is a pretty awesome sight when taking off and making low passes! You want get much bigger than that. All that raw power is sweet to the ears.
With 80 000 folks there, wouldn't it be great if you could detect after them. Access might be a challenge though.
Mick Evans.
