Way, way off topic...but I may have found another way to kill time while it's raining this winter....

I picked up some high carbon cutting wheels from the throw-away bin where I work. I have no idea what type of steel it is except that it's un-scratchable with a file. I cut, shaped and tempered the blade just enough so that I could sharpen it without it being too brittle.
It's 8" overall with a 2 1/2" skinning blade and shape of the handle is very comfortable. I used some scrap hardwood I had at hand but I think I'll hit the lumber yard to see what kind of better looking wood I can dig out of the specialty wood stacks.
I only have maybe 3hrs. into this one and it only took 30 mins. to get the next blank shaped and ready for the wood on my next try......I just may have found yet another way to waste a rainy day off.
