Yesterday I found this:

[attachment 104637 Hmm2.JPG] [attachment 104638 Hmm.JPG]

I'm using ACE 150 and it shows as Gold / Pull tab - Ring, I mean Ace itself couldn't figure it out... it was confusing between the Gold / Pull tab indicator and a Ring. The size of this thing is 8.5 x 6.5 mm. I think It's some sort of mineral, if I'm right, what sort of mineral is it?

Regards,
Panterex

Is it magnetic? I found a heavy rock that I could detect. From my research mine appears to be a piece of a meteorite. It's about 1/2 the size of my fist with a reddish color on the outside.Bill

If it is a meteorite, they can sell for up to $10 a gram depending upon the composition of materials it contains.

i have several small rocks that have set my GTAX 550 off the same way.... the thought of meteors has crossed my mind... they dont just come down in the desert...or farm fields.... they have, and do, come down all over... it's quite probable that some have been pulled out of quarry's ... and been used to build foundations and walls... the last piece i found was 5 feet from a colonial stone foundation... just one more treasure to hunt for...:detecting:

Hi Bill! No It's not magnetic at all. Thanks Bill

It just looks like granite to me. Must have a piece of metal inside for it to register on the machine.

Granite, might have some silver or gold laced in it.
