Waterproofing a Minelab

In light of the situation with Excal backorder, maybe waterproofing
an older Explorer or used Sovereign could be an option.
Does anyone know who I can contact to waterproof a Minelab?
Or do you think it's a bad idea?
Thanks for responding, new to this board.
