Waterproof Trash Coil?

Just looking for your brief recommendations on a waterproof coil for medium trashy areas. I've been reading up on reviews and posts for a couple trash coils, although I did not see many but it looks like the 8x6 SEF is waterproof? Was thinking about getting one of these in the near future. Is there another to consider perhaps? Thanks in advance.

both the minelab 8" fbs coil and the sunray S8 are waterproof. the S8 is my favorite of the 8" sized coils. I like its weight/balance and performance. and yes the 6x8 sef is waterproof. also the sunray X5 is waterproof.
be careful wading with explorer series, water can shoot right up the shaft fairly easily. in the past Ive waded up to the lower connector of the middle rod(a little over a foot deep) and found when you swing the coil water can get pressed up the shaft. luckily for me no water reached the connector but there were droplets on the inside of the middle shaft close to the connector.

Awesome...thanks for the info. Im actually building a waterproof explorer for fun so I wont have to worry about the water.

good luck to you, that should be an awesome detector for the water.

Thanks very much. I love my explorer so much, I have to build one. It will be a nice winter project and should look pretty pro. Once its done, I'll post it in the mods forum.
