Waterproof Tdi

I just learned from the White's website that Carl is working on a waterproof TDI for White's. At least there is something to these rumors and Carl just confirmed them.

Carl is just messing with me now!

12/22/2012 "It's no secret that White's is working on a waterproof TDI. Actually, it's my personal project. All-new case, all-new circuit. Goal is 6us, so it might not run Coiltek coils."

2/18/2013 "I need to squash these rumors of a "waterproof TDI," no such thing is in development. What I'm working on (and it's my personal project) is an all-new PI design that discriminates. The basics are working, but it's still further out than I'd like. Sorry, no dates. New waterproof case is ready, though."

3/23/2013 "Originally I intended to put the TDI in a BeachHunter case as the PCB was designed to fit it. However, that case has many problems, so we decided to design a whole new water case. Ergo the delay. It's an official project and is moving along but I can't offer a release date."

Hopefully by next winter. I was hoping by this winter, but winter is about over. Of course I have been hoping since the day I first ran a TDI. Patience is a virtue for sure in the metal detecting world.

A Fischer guy I knew from Los Banos, now with First Texas, told me they are working on a PI machine. designed for nugget hunting. Says it's a Dave Johnson project. Who knows in this industry. I've heard rumours like this before.

Heard the same rumor. Rumors, rumors, whose got the rumors!

End of the day believe it when you see it. I have heard some pretty tasty rumors, in fact told flat out certain things were going to happen, and then they never came to pass. Luckily I am pretty well set with detectors myself so anything else that comes along these days is unlikely to make a huge difference to me. A genuinely stable waterproof ground balancing PI detector would be one thing that would extend my detecting capability beyond where I currently am.
