waterproof switches

I searched high and low for that same switch. Sure if you panel mount the switch in a water tight box and use a rubber over the switch. But I wanted a full waterproof switch. In fact I couldn't even find a good push button switch. I bought 2 that were supposed to be but failed under water. I just took a toggle and covered it in epoxy after I soldered the leads on. Plus siliconed the rubber to the threads. It's been working with about 20 hours in the water. If you find a 100% water tight switch let me know.

khouse; thanx for your reply. Do you know where I can buy switches with rubber covers? thats probably the way i will have to go.

I buy a lot of stuff here. Plus they sell dual heat shrink tubing. When heated it melts a coating like epoxy inside the tube for water tight connections. The water tight boot at the very top of this page is what I use.

Do you need toggles or would rotary's work. There are waterproof rotary switches.N/T
WHERE ??????????????

Have you thought about magnetic switches like they use on good underwater flashlights ? Nothing penetrates the watertight case .
