Waterproof question

Folks

I need you opinions. I have an AT PRO for sale in the classifieds. The post shows the machine with some Gray Ghost headphones. A forum member is interested but has a question that I'm not sure I know the answer too. When I decided to put the machine up for sale I went to replace the batteries and couldn't remember how to remove the cover. Well, if you look up my WTS post you will see where I used a small screwdriver to try and remove the cover. Of course it was then that I realized the cover just spins and pulls off. So, I feel that the waterproof integrity has not been compromised because the o-ring that makes it waterproof is not anywhere near the area where I dinged it up. I want to sell the unit but, not if fellow members feel that it is no longer waterproof. Help

I agree with you...
I just looked at your picture and MY At Pro and the place where you attacked it is a good distance behind the O-Ring seal.
It looks like only cosmetic damage to me and those latching holes also don't appear waterproof in the first place. That battery cap is also replaceable if it's latching mechanism has been compromised. I purchased a spare (just to have one) and it cost $6.25 at a local Garrett dealer.

The battery compartment I believe is also water proof from the rest of the unit, so a leaking battery cover is not the end of the world.
