Waterproof Compadre !!

Joel-Winnipeg

New member
Has anyone waterproofed a Compadre ?
How deep do you think it would hit in the water ( sand, dirt )
Could be good for the small gold ever other detectors miss !

Boy have I ever thought of that! That could be a CT Pro! (Compadre/Tesoro Pro).:clapping::crylol: With the disc. set to just break on iron bottlecaps, hairpins, it would be like a tone-roll backwards for these iron objects. And I KNOW it would be hot on gold chains.

Would probably be fine in fresh water. Somebody here had a thread this past summer, about waterproofing their Cibola I think...

Seems to me that some years ago I saw where someone was putting a Compadre/,Amigo II , "or something" in a plastic jug in order to warerproof it. I know there are better ways of doing it but this was strictly a "Home project"as I recall and worked well enough that I think some others tried it also. Should be some out there that remember better than I.

Joel,

Yes some body used a clear (Pelican style) box with lid seal & siliconed cables going out through holes (they even included pictures). Showed ingenuity but looked like it would be hard to make adjustments.......Don't think it was for using underwater, just to protect the unit from rain & splashes trashing your expensive detector.

Think it was in this forum to. Maybe some Garu here can point you to it.

There is a discussion and some Pics of a neat conversion Ty Brooks did on a Compadre. Go to the Official Tesoro Forum and check out the posts on 10/1/10 thru 10/5/10. Ty knows his stuff !!! HH Charlie
