Waterproof Ace 250 is done.

Looks like a great job, but take some advice from a plumber and replace the black rubber washers. When they start to disintegrate (which won't take too long), they get real messy and the black residue is hard to remove and gets everywhere.(plumbers nightmare) well, one of them at least.lol

It would save you some dissapointment down the road. I would hate to see that pretty yellow get messed up.
Take care!

Cool looking mod. but now you cant see the screen , change modes, or pinpoint very easily. Would be cool to see a trigger installed above the handgrip to engage the pinpoint feature.

Ya, that would be cool! Also there is no need to look at the screen because you scoop it all anyway. Beep scoop.

nice job, now will it survive in salt water ??:detecting:

The Ace works in the wet salt sand OK. Sens about 3. Forget about the pinpoint until you get in the dry. Out in the salt water the Ace is not good. But it kicks butt in any fresh water! That's what I have here in Missouri.

This is a nice set up but how about some instructions for us not so inclined mechanics. What is the switch for how was it hooked up? how did you seal the housing and with what sealant? silicone? marine epoxy?

The switch is pinpoint. Cables connected through Heyco water tight cable fittings. I posted the instructions a couple of times. Just search around. Or you could buy this one and I'll make another?

All I can say is I never had a leak with over 100 hours of water hunting. Pretty good for a food container.. lol

what do you want for it ??

A dealer from Texas wanted it so I sold it a while back. I need to make another one. I have a waterproof Coinmaster I would sell. Just google it.
