Waterbury Button Co.

A friend of mine just recently found a button made by the Waterbury Button Co. On the front is a Virginia State Seal and on the back is *Waterbury Button Co.*. I know it was not made during the Civil War. Can anyone out there tell me anything about this button, as to when it was manufactured etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated
