Well I have about made my mind up on what water detector I am going to get. SO now I would like to know what is a good scoop. I mean great scoop. the sand here is packed very hard not much wave action . you can walk out a 1/4 mile it it has a firm bottom so I need a tough scoop. thanks Jerry. P.S a special thanks to all that weight in on info and helping me pick the detector. thanks again Jerry

I use the Diamond head scoop from Nuttall enterprises. ((http://www.nuttallenterprises.com/servlet/StoreFront) It weighs about six lbs but it has a stainless head (very important) and its shape goes through the sand like butter. The only problem I have is that the head gets a little jiggly on the fiberglass shaft after a while of digging. It hasnt affected my digging at all just something to note about design. Travis the owner is a very nice guy and went the extra mile for my order

Hi nightman,

I found that by flipping back through past posts there are posts available about every scoop ever built and some only dreamed of.

Check them out before you buy and you can make a well informed decision.

And I wish mine came with the engagement ring on the end of the handle like Chi Towns! LOL Maybe this summer...

Few Of My water Scoops, The one is a Babbs Travel El toro, Alum Very lite almost 5 lb, 12 in long 6 in wide SS tip.
The Middle one is Reilly's Long Nose, All SS, 6 lbs, Very Tuff and Hits the Deep Targets 13.5 inch nose long, 5 in wide.
The next is the Grave digger, All Alum, 6lbs , 15 in long 7.5 in wide Hits very deep, if you can pick it up. Not many Bigger
then it, need to get the pro handle for it. i would recommend SS if you can handle the weight, or SS Tip. I have a wood handle
Nuttall design, Very strong design but the wood handle floats and in ruff wave action it beats me to death
Good luck on finding one that works for you.

Chitownbruce, Nice rock there, on top of the Handle.

Not a nutall original, But same design with a wood handle. Worked great.Something about the
rectangle design of the scoop hits the targets better then the round design. Obn
