Water Question

Hello all!

I am a happy XT70 owner with the stock coil... 6"DD HF and 10.5"DD MF coils... Which can go into the water?

Paul

I think all three can. They should be submersible up to the end of the power lead. The only one which I understand is just "water resistant" (not Waterproof) is the 10x5" DD HF Elliptical.

Anyone else?

I was told the same thing when I stop in Mine Dealer in Fla.The 10 x 5 was not water proof .Just water resistant. Also on the FAQ on top of this page you will see a chart on coils that shows the same thing.

Meaning... I can go right up to the XT70 head unit... is that the end of the power lead ?

Yes. Keep the Control Box out of the water. I'd suggest an Environmental Cover on the Control Box to prevent splashed water and (if you are Detecting beaches for coins & relics) to avoid the horrors of salt-laden air.
