So I dont often go near sources of water when metal detecting, but there are a few places locally that I wouldnt mind dipping the coil into just to see whats there. I have two concerns on this. First, and I'm pretty sure I'm ok, is the standard coil on the F5 waterproof in that I can put the coil under water and be ok? Second, and this is where the mod part comes in, does anyone know how to make the control box completely waterproof? I dont want to go deep sea diving with it or anything, I just want to be able to put it down next to me if I happen to be walking in say, 3 feet of water and need to bend down to grab a target. Anyone ever tried this before? Ya I know I could buy a fully waterproof detector, but I'm working a budget here, so I'd rather mod than spend high amounts of cash for a true underwater detector, even as bad as I want one,
