Hi can anyone help me out? I am interested in modifying my excaliber so I can switch coils. I want to be able to use a WOT coil and also my Tornado 10". I know it can be done and I actually have some connectors I must have ordered years ago, but don't know how they work. Also one of the other water hunters posted some websites for somehting called mini buccaneers, but again I would need to know how to install them. Thanks for any help you can give!

Getting ready to put on a few will take pics..mini bucc..bulgin..very easy...soldering required

Connector I use, Bulgin 400 series Buccaneer, may want to check out pratts also. This is the smallest of all connectors for changing out coils..IP68, they have solder pins, and crimp also.

now for the WOT wirering ...are the wot cable colors the same as the stock coil wire ??

is there a way to tell how old ur xcal is i know it was purchased in 2006 this chart is hard to read

so its red to red
black to blach
white to white
yellow to yellow/orange

on the 2006 xcal model

OBN got the conectors today ..finished putting the WOT on my excal800 about 2 hours ago

1 thing the WOT coil cable is bit thicker and i could not close the connector .. but bit of a silicone and it will do

some one here said that the WOT is not sensitive to small target not true i just pull out things that are verry small and thin some coins and a 10k ring so she is a keeper

WTG TC........., thank Pratt for the info on the WOT/ bulgin, and Dave also...........

Good Job TC, I'm interested in what part did not fit on the cable/connector..get me a pic if you can...............I got a WOT around here some where, may break it out for the summer, you never know. TC how does it feel with the weight of the WOT, hunting underwater with it was not bad, but hunting the shoreline for 5+ hours ..not sure if I can do that anymore. TC, how deep was your deepest target?..thanks buddy.....................joe

ONB do to the thickness of the WOT coil the white rubber washer that goes into the part on the right ...i could barely fit the robber one ,,,and the next white plastic piece there was no way that this one was going in there far enough for me to screw in the last part.....so i removed the plastic white pie ace put silicone all over the thread and screed in the last part

i did not feel that the WOT is to heavy like i said i only went out for a 3 hour hunt but my arm was fine pin pointing was not a problem (but i'm 33 200lbs )and i hip mount the xcal

Has anyone used these? Any problem with interchanging coils?

I too have seen these SOURIAU connectors. I'm wondering if they are a cut above the rest because they are IP69K (which means waterproof PLUS resistant against a jet of sprayed water pressure) rather than just IP68 (means just waterproof). I wonder if they are sealed tighter. It is a Japanese company. It does not look like they have a factory in Japan, but they do not have one in China so I guess that is good. I will try some of these when I need a waterproof connector, but it is going to be a while.

Note: Just found some info, apparently they will maintain a waterproof seal even if the cable is pulled on or bent. Sounds good to me:
