Water proof connectors;Anyone using them on Excaliber?

Hi fellow detectorists,

I bought the WOT underwater connector recently and it flooded first time out.Followed directions to a T.Used waterproof sealent on the threaded strain reliefs and now I have to get them apart.Having trouble with this.Everytime you want to change coil size do you have to reseal this area where it attaches to the aluminum part?Need some help. How are the connectors from Sunray? Thanks in advance, Steve

This is not a good idea. Had a mate use them in Florida, they leaked and it almost cost him his warranty, but Minelab was gracious enough to repair the unit under his warranty, but they did not have to. My advice to you is, stay hardwired. I have never used them myself, but have no intention of doing so.

Totally agree with GH. I just use my machine to its designed maximum and will be happy with it. Life's too complicated to make it more complicated.
