water proof coil?

New member
going to florida,i have a ml se. would it be wise to submerge the coil? had a bounty hunter last year after about 20 minutes in the water it quit working, after it dryed out it was working again

I hunt with mine IN the surf a good bit and have never had a problem. Just dont raise the coil above the box water will run down the shaft from the inside and bad things can happen. Always clean your equipment when you come in.

thank you, never thought about water running-down the shaft, that might be what i did with the bounty hunter, put it on my shoulder when i walked out of the water.

YOu have to remember the coil is inside the shaft...... thats straight to the box connector. I can walk to the beach where i live and can tell you salt water destroys EVERYTHING so take care of your equip during and after the hunt. Use a cover on the box, wipe everything down after, Id recommend putting some kind of a vynal label over the speaker, and use some kind of silicone on the cable occassionally. What ever you do if you have an inline PP swap shafts before you go .... you dont need it and it WILL die.
