Water hunting in FL this time of year

Jason in TN

New member
Need a break from the cold and snow here in the mountains was thinking of taking a trip to FL to do some water and beach hunting.
Any one have any ideas on where the best warm place may be this time of year would you have to go all the way to the keys?

Miami....Southbeach and Key Biscane and all along up to Ft. Lauderdale. I live in Florida (West Central) and if I were to take a trip anywhere, that would be it. Have a water machine?

Yes Sharks.

Seems this time of year is when the sharks migrate. A kite surfer was killed just yesterday 90 miles north of Miami by a shark.

Very rare but still a problem.

Last year I was at the outer banks and had a fairly large shark wash up on shore very close to me during a storm. I stayed out of the water and did only wet sand after that.

I remember a few years ago the photograph of the swimmers in Florida and the sharks that were just a few feet away from them in the water.

The photo was taken by a RC airplane and everyone was oblivious to the sharks.

This post was from a couple of years ago...hehehe a real "check your shorts" moment

I was in Florida for 3 weeks in Feb of last year. I was out snorkeling with a school of 3 - 5' black tipped sharks. Everybody was yelling at me to get out of the water but I was having an awsome time watching them. Two Hollywood police officers came to the beach and motioned me to get out. I came out and they wanted my information for next of kin!! I told them I dove in Okinawa for 3 years and I could handle myself. We had a good talk and I went back in......................BUT

Detecting a little later maybe not that day but within a few days, I was hunting in the water at night. a fish about a foot long jumped out of the water and hit me in the right sholder. It scared the pants off of me!!!!! Life in the big city I guess!!! Just thought I would share this funny story!! While I was there I found 688 coins with one being a wheat penny and one mans gold ring. It was a great trip though.

its too cold for you guys up north to come down here..the sharks are out now looking for mates..the waters too cold..
do i need to tell you more??? just stay home and play in the snow..lol..
have a great time..

And all the gold and silver is beyond the reach of modern detectors.......yeah:rofl:

Don't waste your time... so much sand on the east coast, I have a hard time scratching out clad. Kinda disappointing, still waiting for a storm to move the sand...

Man sounds like I need to wait till it warms up a bit more down that way can take water in the mid sixtys for a while but 50 is a bit cold.
Guess I will just have to take my trip money and buy me a new firearm.

Thanks
For the Info.
