Water HP ???

Ok all you Mod Pros out their, I need some ideas on what i can do to lower the Volume on on the Sea Hunter with the water Headphones without voiding the warranty??
And keeping it water proof ?? Are should i send it back to the factory??? Thanks All you Pros, Mickfin

mickfin,

Even with heaing loss from years of working around jet aircraft engines and in industrial settings I have problems with these earphones being too loud!

I tried phones with volume controls and wasn't satisfied with their performance. (I preferred water-proof phones anyway.)

I finally followed the suggestion of several posters, on this forum as I recall, and fitted several disks of dense neoprene gasket material (1/8th" or so thick) in each ear piece until I was able to "tone down" the volume to a comfortable level.

I didn't lose performance and was able to stand the sounds emitted by the phones well enough that I started to find those deep targets that I missed before.

I've heard that there are adjustments one can make within the electronics of some of these machines, but why should I risk ruining the detector when I can get fine results by a less risky means?

Good luck,

CJ

CJ, Was thear enough room in HPs for the ears after you put some foam in theme???? Wear did you get the neopreme foam??? Thanks CJ Mickfin

The cheapest place to find a piece is next to your computer----mouse pad

I used dense rubber gasket material I bought at an auto parts store, but any dense foam rubber should do. (such as the mouse pad mentioned.)

It's thin enough not to get in the way of your ears like faom plastic would and the denser material cuts down the sound better than lighter foam padding.

CJ

Cap N sven Thanks 4R Info you 2 are the Best, Mickfin
