Water gloves

Just curious if anyone is using some sort of water gloves like dive gloves or something. If you get in and out of the water i noticed the ole hands can really take a beating from the sand carrying that scoop around. I know the rubber ones you use for dirt digging dont work ..... the salt kills them first time out and they literally stick together. The dive boots work well for me keeping most sand out unlike the sand shoes or flip flops i might us on the beach.

I use an old pair of dive gloves from the day. I dive no more. They work very well but are falling apart from age (79-82). I also need a new pair. The brand is Tabata. Mine are red with yellow palm and rainbow stripe over top of hand. Looked on the net under the Tabata brand but only found black color. Would rather have lighter color when not in water. If you find anything let me know.

I use dive gloves when the water is cold, but when i hunt the wetsand in the winter, I will sometimes wear nitrile coated work gloves. Kinda like these : http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1444719&cp=2568443.2568444.2598672.4355274.1305678 . I usually only wear them when I know I will be working in trashy areas, and may pick up something that's sharp.

I hunt in places with allot of trash, sharp can edges, fishhooks and such. They help grip the handle of the scoop also and saves the wear and tear on the hands. All dive shops will have a glove like this. Good luck and be safe. HH!!

I found some great gloves in the garden center at Home Depot. Black nylon with rubber coated palms and fingers and they last forever. Around $5.00. They fit real snug and you can pick an ear ring back up with them. HH :minelab:

I use those rubber coated ones for dirt digging Dig..... but the darn things seem to want to melt after awhile. Maybe im not rinsing them off properly after ward. Just wandered who used them more for the abrasiveness of the sand.

I use some form of glove no matter what type of metal detecting I am doing. In the water its always neoprene dive gloves. Usually, if I find a keeper it goes on one finger...under my glove so I won't lose it. Currently I use 3mm gloves. But I am going to get a thicker pair for fall soon. HH -Joe
