Here are a few water drop photos I took last winter. I built a small electronic circuit to automatically fire my off camera flash when a drop of water moved between the sensors of the trigger circuit. I could adjust the circuit slightly for travel time so I was able to take early versus late photos of the drop. To take the photos I turned out most of the lights and put my camera on long time exposure mode, opened the shutter, started the water drop and the flash automatically acted as the shutter speed giving me a VERY fast shutter speed and thus stopping action, I then closed the shutter. I demonstrated this technique at our camera club meeting and others (who had DSLR'S) also got some really good stop action photos. Got mixed reviews with non DSLR's although a few who really knew how to set up their cameras got some good results.
