water digging tool

Hi, I recently purchased a digging tool for the sand beaches. It`s 44" tall with a 5" dia. scoop. It looks awesome and I was really looking forward to trying it out....but, I just got my permit to hunt the beaches in the MO. state parks and they will only allow a 12" length and a 3" dia. on the digging tool you use...YIKES!!! What to do now? Do the ones like I have work well in streams and rivers? Any input from users would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom

I think you will be OK if you stay on the sand with that thing..its a sand scoop right? ..the rule sounds like they were talking about a dirt digger shovel of some sort...

I think you might be right MP!! I would check with a park ranger and ask him if it's OK. I don't see what difference it would make on a sand beach either, just fill in those holes. And yes, T, your scoop should be fine in the rivers and streams. Different spots require different tools and tactics. You have to get in there and see what works for you.

just got off the phone with a park rep. Now waiting to hear from the super at the park I will be hunting at. Apparently there is some leeway but it`s up to the individual super from park to park. Thanks for your input, Tom
