Water Detector

John D.

New member
OK I am beginning to want a water detector, any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Your Friend,

....ooooh, tuffy. Where do you live an' will it be fresh or salt?

Whats your budget?

I know this is a Garrett Forum but I cant argue with the advice. Actually I wouldnt, as I own a Tiger Shark. It is, by some accounts, the best VLF water detector going.

I also like the CZ-20, but it is clunkier IMHO

What about the Garrett SeaHunter II? Well, is a PI unit and they arent usually recommended for fresh water, because you want some discrimination. But, it would work of course, and people use it there - and it offers the chance for salt water maximization, should you go to the beach.

I will more than likely be just wading in lakes, rivers and going to the beach once or twice a year.
I really like my 1350 because I was finding coins from day one. I have never had any experience with a Tesoro, are they difficult to program?
Your Friend,
PS Thanks for the great advise over the last few months.
