Water coil help needed

Hi Guys,
Can someone explain the differance between the 10" eliptical coil for a Sand Shark and the 10.5" round coil(other than the price). Is the elipitical more like a DD and the round a concentric? Just curious as I am about to purchase a larger coil for my machine and want to make sure about my choices.
HH,
Bill

Bill,
I'm not that familiar with the Sandshark and no expert on PI machines but my guess is they are both mono coils meaning there is one winding that serves both the transmit and receive function vs the 2 overlapping windings (one transmit and one receive) found on DD types. Actually it is probably a misnomer to call them windings as Tesoro describes them as a printed coil where the "windings" are similar to a printed circuit.
My preference is always for a round coil over a true elliptic unless you need the elliptic shape for getting into tight spots.
