Water and Land detector?

VaBill

New member
Is there a detecor that works on land and beach but if it gets wet it wont hurt it? I know most brands claim to be waterproof other than the control box. We go to the beach every couple months and my mom wants a machine to try the beach with, but shes goofy and likely to get the whole thing wet. Thanks guys.

Like all detectors it has it's flaws and there are some concerns about QC and customer service lately but it is still a great detector.
Mom would get a nice water machine and you could add another detector to your relic hunting arsenal.

If it's for your Mom, swing weight may be a concern. That being the issue (and simplicity of use) I would look at the Detector Pro Head Hunter Wader. Very easy to use and is waterproof up to six feet deep. Also, affordable. Two other good units are the Tesoro Tiger Shark and Minelab Excalibur. But these may have a little too much swing weight for a Mom. Most like detectors that are light and easy to learn. Good hunting, David@Dixie

yea, I use the Cobra beach magnet from kellyco, it's a decent machine that can be used in and out of the water. Actually can dive 130 feet deep with it.
