cleand it, found it hinged on once side. Inside is "beacon w c co. swiss" on the moving parts was "one jewel unadjusted" any clues to the age?

Does it have wire lugs, or did it use spring pins to attach the strap? If it has wire lugs, it is probably from the 20's or 30's.
Great find!
Darren

no springs, they are attached. Almost everything i have found in this area has been from the 1800's, is it possible to be from that era also?

My lesbian neighbors gave me a Timex not too long ago,,,,,,,, I think they misunderstood me when I said I wanna watch.lol

I watched that picture for several hours it never moved...hmmm it must be playing possum I'll keep watching it and let you know it if it moves.

Joe, it is possible, as the military started using wire lug watches on the wrist around 1850 or so. Watches made for the common guy were pocket watches up until around 1912, when Borgel offered one of their smaller pocket watches with a different case which had the wire lugs soldered on for a strap. If it is one of the military versions, it could be quite valuable. I'll see if I can locate more information for you.

The first wrist watch was invented/produced by Patek phillipe in 1868. Have not heard of the Beacon Watch Company but will keep looking.

Your watch does look 1920 ish
