Watch piece found on beach- ID on Age? Manufacturer?

Surfline

New member
Forum,

Found this piece on the beach. I thought it was a copper coin at first when I spotted the edge. Turns out to be, what I believe, is from a watch. Can anyone help ID its age? Manufacturer?

On one side I can see the numbers 1 and 4 and I think a 5 (zoom on second pic).

Thanks,

Surfline

Might be a watch.. just curious if you find small distorted pieces of brass on that same beach ..if so that could be part of ww2 ordinance especially if the numbers on the faceplate dont quite jive with what you would find on a watch. . some beach get loaded with that stuff..

I repair antique clocks. I used to repair watches but my eyes aren't what they used to be! It is an old watch for sure and I would gestimate it maybe from the 1920's-1930's but as it's toasted so much, it's a little hard to I.D. I also have found old watch parts and the salt water and also fertilizers in soils are very hard on instruments with fine/delicate parts like watches etc;.
