Watch fob?

Hi all. Just found out about this forum. Thought I would try it out.
Think this is a fob but not sure of the dating. It is a little smaller than a silver dollar. The ribbon says E PLURIBUS UNUM.
Not sure if the 7 stripes and stars on the shield is a clue to age but the uniforms look 19th century??
Will be glad to get any info.
Thanks

The soldier on the left looks very Span-Am war. That should narrow down the date.

Thanks Dean
You may be right. I think you meant the uniform on the right. It reminds me of Roosevelt and the rough riders. Wasn't he involved in that war? (don't know much about it)I don't know what sailors uniforms looked like then but think your right about the other one.
