Watch Find

O.K. here it goes. Finally figured how to load these pics. Again, found this at a sand volleyball court about 3-5" down on my second day hunting. It really got me hooked on detecting. Think is the real thing?

It looks to me like you got a winner wrench. I had possession of one very similar many years ago (long story).I seem to recall at the time being told that the markings on the band are often NOT found on the counterfeits. Yours obviously has them. the one I had was worth (retail) about $5,500.00 at the time (20 yrs ago). I'm no expert so I'd take it into a jeweler. Regardless whether it's real or not, it's a great find. Good work !

Way to go! Hopefully it will pan out to be the real McCoy. Whatever, it's still a good find. HH, Nancy

Is the watch running? I bought a fake one on a vacation to Mexico one time (knowing it was a fake of course) and they are quite abundant in many cities. One thing is that the second hand on the fake clicks every second. I know someone with a real one and his second hand moves in much finer movements, maybe 8 per sec? Anyways, have a pro check it out, and I sure hope it is a real one you got there!

I forgot to thank Ms. Nancy for the link to re-size the pics. Thank you! I'll take it to a jeweller and see if they can determine if its real. I finally got my parks permit from the city office and will hit some of them next weekend. I've watched lots of videos on the net and posts on this site to learn how to properly fill them plugs...I don't want to get in trouble or give other detectorists problems with the law or irate civilians. Thanks for the kind advice and kudos.

Congrats on the watch find.
Hope's it's the real one.. !!

Hey, great find. If it's not a knock off and is the REAL thing then you just
paid for your detector and maybe a night out on the town!

Holy Cow!!!!!!!

Take the back off and see if there is plastic parts inside. If there is, it is not real. One can buy them all day and night long for $3 in China. I saw this trick on Pawn Shop Wars on A&E.

Does it work? If so, does the second hand tick or rotate smoothly without stopping? If the latter, you have a winner!

wow that's a nice find.

Hey Wrench, any updates on whether the watch is authentic or not ? Just curious.

Each real Rolex is has a # that can be traced to the owner...If it was stolen and you pawn it,guess what? You may be in trouble.
I'd take it to a Rolex jeweler, they can tell you if its real and if so contact the owner.
