Was trying to catch a big bumble bee on this flower.

Maybe he will come back later today. I tried.....It looked great on the edge of the red and yellow but that split second he was out of it.
Nice flower anyhow....Pretty shallow depth of field in this mode, but had she had stuck around, she would of came out decent.

One of my sons X girlfriends worked at a nursery and use to do their flower show set ups so she would bring Jane a lot of different ones.

to stay still long enough to get a picture. I am also just a tab gun shy of trying to take a bee picture because they often get angry and decide to come after me. I don't know why, but I do not see as many Bumble Bees anymore...wonder if they are becoming extinct? Kelley (Texas) :)

Maybe a little honey or jelly on your picnic table would draw them. When they are eating they are not much interested in biting. They only bite if they feel threatened anyway. Bees can buzz all around me when I am around flowers and I tend to ignore them. Mary and many others freak out and start swinging their arms and that is a threat to bees. Honey bees, as most know, will die if they sting and they tend not to want to die.
