so I got the chance to look through some of my father-in-law's coins. He has a pretty neat collection of coins that he has collected since his youth as a paper boy. This coin that I'm posting was his mothers. He kept it, because it was the year she was born. Has anyone ever seen one of these coins(Columbus half-dollar)? The coin is not too rare or unusual. A special commemorative minting, that didnt sell well, so they were dumped into circulation. Over 1 million in circulation. Probably worth 7-8 dollars. I thought it was pretty cool though, 'cause I'd never seen one. I'll post the back in the attached post.
