and wagons. He goes all over collecting them, restoring etc. I swung by today and he had these out on the side of the road. Says he sells quite a few just before Christmas every year. Though I'd put up a few to show you guys. No snow down here off the hill but ground is still white here where I live. This is about 8 miles from me. The covered green sleigh has a story with it he is working on trying verify right now. The people he got it from said their grand parents gave a ride to one of the presidents in it while he was in Connecticut. We had a major snow storm and nothing was moving. So he climbed in this one and was taken to where he was headed. Ron is working on trying to find this somewhere in writing. If so it adds to its worth for sure. The rear top folds forward and off.

Once we get decent snows up this way a lot of people take them out. I will get some pictures of them when they do. Pretty neat to see if live if you never have when they have all the bells on and the old lanterns.

Dirt bike club tonight, be back later...... Geo-Ct

I've never been on a sleigh ride. That's one of things I would put on my bucket list though. :)

All at once.. I eventually pared them down to two.

Still have them

Very Cool George...funny to think there was a time not too long ago, when just heading into town meant hitching up ol' Dobbin...back then, a snow plow was a Clydesdale..

Beautiful sleighs George!

It's kind-of a shame when most of them are used as lawn ornaments these days.

Merry Christmas to you and your family Friend,

CJ

or most of the old ones would long be gone by now!

A lot of them around here still in use or refurbished. Even see a few pulled with snowmobiles fill with kids.

Every thing ran off a water wheel on a creek bed. They made wooden water trough, and a big wooden sleigh runnier. Neat how it all ran off water and big leather belts. The place was really old building. Loved the show with all the old tools, plus the Craftsmanship that went in too each peace they built. I think it had it's own water powder generator for the lighting and some electric tools. A really neat work shop that did blacksmith and woodwork. Be a dream come true shop.
