We have a few teams in the area from the Junior International Softball Association. These teams are basically made up of high school age young ladies that have been selected as representatives from their home countries to travel and play softball in International tournaments. Yesterday I did ball games between Aruba and Argentina. Understand that the talent isn't quite what you will see here in the states but they all had fun, as did we, getting to know them and talking to them about their softball experiences. These are GREAT kids and I was honored to have been asked to work their games for them. The home plate conference was interesting as Argentina spoke very little English and we sometimes needed an interpreter to explain rulings on the field but they were very passionate about their sport as well as respectful. Aruba was interesting as their language seems to be made up of English, Spanish, and French. The coaches were funny and all of the players spoke fluent English so they were much easier to communicate with and joke around with. It was more like a practice game so it was loose and fun in a relaxed atmosphere.

The girls said that Aruba is hot all of the time but not like Florida. The humidity is much higher and even though Aruba is hot year round, there are no mountains so they have breezes all of the time to cool things off.
All for now, hope you enjoyed this.
