Warranty registration

Does anyone register their warranty online with First Texas? Since there is no warranty card I thought this was the only option. Or do you just hold on to your receipt?

Call and ask about a warranty card. I've bought 2 new BH's and I got a card with both. By all means hold on to your receipt until you contact First Texas.

i bought 2 BHs as well and got warrenty cards with both which I filled out and mailed. you should definitly ask for one.

Mhhh... I was searching today for a registration online and found this:

In Response To: Complaint (gerry hickel)
Where did you purchase your detector? I am sure it was not directly from us but from one of our many dealers. Most large companies have policies and procedures we use for repairing or changing out defective merchandise and we are no different. If you bought a defective product from Wal-Mart would you call the manufacturer or Wal-Mart first to get the situation resolved?
I suggest you first contact the dealer you purchased the unit from and ask them to help resolve the situation. We offer free change out units to all of our dealers on new defective product and will be happy to do so for you if you will have the company you purchased your detector from contact us and request a change out for new defective. It is our policy to not do change outs unless we are contacted by the company that originally purchased the detector from us and they authorize it. This is the only way we can ensure it is a new out of box defective and do a change out.

The original complain was innecesary rude, and the answe from the Co. is very polite, but but I don't like the attitude... In fact, they are denying the warranty... The warranty is always a final responsability of the Manufacturer. If you send to them with the invoice probing the date, they have to honor it...

Thank you to all who responded, this is very interesting as I just purchased a new F2 from a Fisher dealer at eBay. There was no warranty in the box for this detector either, so I emailed the dealer about this and here was his response, and I quote " There is no warranty card that ships with F2, keep your receipt that is your proof. I am a Fisher dealer as of 2/18/08 I'm not listed on the site yet. If you look on the back of your instruction manual it gives you the warranty info, if you have any problems please let me know. Thanks again". Well on the back of the users manual it says, Proof of Purchase is required to make a claim under this warranty. On the back of the Bounty hunter 2200 manual it reads Bounty hunter metal detectors are warranted against defects in workmanship or materials under normal use for 5 years from date of purchase to the original user. Liability in all events is limited to the purchase price paid. Liability under this warranty is limited to replacing or repairing, at our option, any Bounty hunter detector returned prepaid, to First Texas Products, LP. Damage due to neglect, accidental damage or misuse of this product is not covered by this warranty.
I guess I better call them.

I bought both of my Bounty Hunter units, Pioneer 202 and the Time Ranger off Ebay. Both came with a warranty card. I simply filled it out and mailed it in. About three years later the 202 developed a glitch. I called First Texas, explained the problem, and was told to send the unit in. About one week later I received the repaired unit with a new coil and upgraded motherboard all at no cost. Outstanding customer service and warranty protection. I can't speak for other companies, but I have nothing but good to say about Bounty Hunter and their products. If someone is suggesting First Texas is a "tricky company" they are totally mistaken. If First Texas did someone wrong you would certainly hear about it on the forum. Instead you read of incident after incident where First Texas not only provided quick service but went above and beyond to support and stand behind their product. If you have a warranty card send it in, if you don't have one call them direct, they'll do the right thing.

Also, NEVER talk to the owner or director of a company directly...they will ALWAYS give you the legal answer...talk to the secretaries or the techs...

:clapping:Let me tell you. You cannot beat BH for customer service. I had a 202 that was fixed by them and returned and got rained on by FEDEX and their poor shipping. BH took my unit back, repaired it and returned it to me like new!!!! Great Company:clapping:

Yeah... BH rules... in prices also. I didn't know that BH sold Detectors. By the way, the situation is solved. The eBay seller told me that I can put his auth. name (eBay name...) in the warranty Card.
However... interesting data: I did a search by the name that appeared in the eBay invoice, and I see that the same detectors he sell at 152$ in eBay under one name, he sell in an open website at 199$, and is a 249 or 299$ MSRP product... Interesting... Regards to all and thanks for the answers and advices !
